  This exhibition is of selected artwork which has been completed at the workshops held at The School of Mines during the week. The artwork is created with heritage paint made from crushed clay.

10am - 3pm  Open Days at The Pumphouse
  It has been nearly 100 years since the Pumphouse engines last operated, but the original massive counter-balanced pumping quadrants are still in place over the main mineshaft, together with the recreated five metre diameter flywheels. Take a walk through this historic building and marvel at how it operated during the goldrush days in early Thames. On display are the original plans from 1896 of the 23-metre Poppet Head, which is going to be re-constructed when funds become available. There are also many photographs of mining and old Thames on display.

8am - 1pm  Petticoats & Pantaloons Competition
  Come dressed in your finest "undergarments" namely petticoats and pantaloons, and enter our fun competition. Judging will take place at 11.00am and you must register before then. There will be trading tables in the Hall. (If you would like to book a table please email Margaret - Cost is $10.00)

5pm - 7pm  Pre-Dinner Promenade
  Come for a leisurely promenade of nearly a kilometre (458 metres each way) across the mighty Waihou River on the Historic Kopu Bridge (Heritage NZ Category 1 Historic Place). This is a rare chance to walk all the way (nearly a kilometre there and back) across the now closed historic bridge which is still in original pre-restoration state (with restoration due to start soon). A stroll should help build the appetite for dinner! Dress up welcomed, bring your top hats, parasols, Victorian or Steampunk dress through to Art Deco era (the bridge was built in 1928). Walking, prams and wheelchairs only please - no bikes, scooters, horses or vehicles. "Mr Whippy" will be in attendance for refreshments, and Rosalie will be storytelling. 10am - 3pm  Steam Up at Goldmine Experience
  The steam engine will be put into action this weekend. This is a rare engine and is only steamed up for special occasions so come along to witness the spectacle. You can also explore the photographic museum, view a video presentation, discover mining relics, pan for gold, and check out the Cave Weta Colony!! (torch and covered footwear needed for this). With a guide you can watch the 19th century stamper battery in action, or you can take a self-guided tour ($15.00 per adult; $5.00 children under 13 years)(Tour groups 20% discount). This wonderful attraction has been built, refurbished, resurrected, and installed over many years by volunteers from the Hauraki Prospectors Association.
